Two Albanians, one of whom was previously convicted of property crimes and who were suspected of being part of a group of "hawks", were caught by the Italian police in Bolzano a day ago.
The detainees are a 48-year-old man with a criminal record, banned from entering Italy for 5 years, but who returned, and a 40-year-old man who had just entered the country.
The carabinieri noticed during the usual patrol in the streets of the historic center, in Via Cesare Battisti, a car moving suspiciously at high speed.
The patrol decided to stop him for a more complete check. From the initial check in the database of the Ministry of the Interior, the police were able to determine that the "Ford Fiesta" vehicle was stolen the day before, in Appiano sulla Strada del Vino.
There were two Albanians in the car. A 48-year-old man, who was previously convicted of property crimes in the Brindisi region, was identified as driving the car. By his side was a 40-year-old compatriot who had just arrived in Italy from Albania.
It also turned out that the driver was deported from Italy last April by the Public Security Authorities of Brindisi and was escorted to Tirana, banned for 5 years from entering Italy.
A search of the vehicle revealed numerous burglary tools: a drill, a hammer, a tube of special glue, latex gloves and others. At the end of the proceedings, the previously convicted Albanian was arrested after breaking the order, as accusations of theft of the vehicle and other items were raised, "Lavocedeltrentino" writes.
The Police Commissioner of Bolzano, Paolo Sartori, considering the seriousness of the incident, has issued an expulsion decree against the 48-year-old, with an immediate order to leave the National Territory, after the Prosecutor's Office completes the criminal proceedings for the charges raised.
The same measure was taken against the 40-year-old friend, who was given 7 days to leave Italy, otherwise he will be forcibly escorted to Albania.
