Xhemal Loka, the husband of 41-year-old Bedrie Loka, in the courtroom, denied the accusations that he abused his wife and pushed her to commit suicide.
He claimed that there were fights in the couple like any family, but not to extreme points.
The 45-year-old asked for a lenient measure arguing that he has 4 dependent children.
I do not agree with the accusation of the prosecutor. I have been threatened by the woman's people. Regarding Tik-Tok, I forgave my wife and told her this. They called me anonymously in Greece and threatened me. I don't know which one it was. I told her when you leave the house, take one of the children with you.
I had arguments with my wife like any couple, but not conflict that she went to extremes. How can I do that when she is the mother of my 4 children. Her brother Mahmoud knows everything. I don't know what to say anymore. I became suicidal. Give me a more lenient measure because I have 4 dependent children .''- stated Xhemal Loka.
The serious incident was recorded on January 2 but became public on January 5, 2024, while Loka was arrested a day later.
The family members of Xhemal Loka went to the Court of Durrës today, where the 45-year-old appeared for the assessment of the security measure.
Xhemal's mother says that her son had forgiven Bedrija for the story of the derogatory post on Tik Tok. They also talk about an old conflict between their family and Bedrije's brothers over the theft of 40,000 euros in the Loku family's apartment. It seems that this old conflict was re-opened on January 3rd, the day the dead body was to be retrieved from the morgue.
Even Xhemal Loka's brother, Fatmiri, has rejected the accusations of Bedrie Loka's brothers, that she was pushed to commit suicide by her husband who was abusing her. As for the children's statements about violence, he said that they were threatened by their uncles.
It seems that the family members were aware of the violence that Xhemal Loka used against Bedrija. The mother-in-law herself accepts it at her word.
"They accused me that the nana encouraged the son to beat the bride. The daughter of the bride also drank the poison twice. They know that I was in Greece," she says.
