Security expert Fatjon Softa says that the murder of the 50-year-old man yesterday evening in Bërxullë e Vora was a well-organized assassination, carried out by a person with advanced knowledge of the use of weapons.
He said that the fact that no shell casings were found at the scene indicates that the perpetrator intended to leave no trace. He did not rule out the possibility that the murder was committed from a distance with a rifle with binoculars, but stressed that the possibility of using a cylinder-type weapon, which does not eject shells, also remains open.
"The shot was fired with a single bullet in the back, which indicates a cold-bloodedness, a preparation and a surveillance or a pursuit of the victim and it could be a sniper, a rifle with binoculars that may have required a distance to avoid cameras, to avoid witnesses, to avoid ballistic traces. He was watching the game. The moment the game ended, he went out to go to the apartment. At this moment when you are approaching the apartment, then at this moment there is a shot that we do not know how far the distance is. It is too early to say whether it is with a sniper, or whether it is with a pistol at close range. Such weapons of the grinder or cylinder type do not leave casings at the scene of the crime. It means that he did not want to leave marks. This shows that these are people or a person who has knowledge of weapons," Softa stated on A2 CNN.
The expert stressed that in order to discover the motive, the victim's history must be analyzed. According to him, public sources describe the 50-year-old as an influential person in the area, engaged in property sales, which raises suspicions of possible conflicts related to this activity.
"We have to go and look at the person's history when we want to go to build the motive. The person in the area from the media, from open sources as a strong person. He was involved in the sale and purchase of properties. It shows that a possibility of a possible conflict can be made with the properties. So when we say sale and purchase, it means that we may have suspected forms of fraud, or the violation of interests that may have ended with this assassination," said Softa.
Another lead, according to the expert, is related to the period when the victim lived in Italy. Investigators are expected to verify whether he had conflicts or problems during his stay there, although this is considered a secondary lead in addition to his activity in Albania.
"A possible suspicion is that the person lived in Italy and the second track is to investigate the time of stay, the place of stay in Italy to obtain data and information about that time for which there may have been conflicts or other sources who wanted to eliminate him, but this remains a secondary part. The most important part remains the activity he did within Albanian territory", the expert emphasized.
