Police have intensified checks at private clinics and hospitals following the gun attack recorded on Sunday evening in the village of Rrilë, Lezha, where a 30-year-old man was injured.
Investigators suspect that the real target of the attack may have also been injured during the incident and is seeking medical help in secret.
The incident took place inside a barbershop owned by Sokol Daci, also known in the area as "Berber Coli". He was shot and immediately transported to the Trauma Hospital, where his life is out of danger.
According to investigative sources, at the time of the attack, several other people were inside the premises, including a police officer and a member of the Nikulaj tribe. It is suspected that there was an exchange of fire, while preliminary investigations suggest that the barbershop owner was not the main target of the attack.
The investigation team is working on the idea that there was more than one perpetrator. It is suspected that at least one of them got out of the vehicle and fired a volley of automatic weapons at the bar, before leaving the scene.
As part of the investigation, the Police are conducting checks on private healthcare facilities in Lezha and the surrounding area, to verify whether any person with gunshot wounds has sought medical treatment, which would strengthen suspicions that the target of the assassination attempt was also injured during the attack.
Sokol Daci does not appear to have a criminal record and is known in the community as a citizen with no problems with the law. Investigations continue to identify and apprehend the perpetrators, as well as to fully clarify the circumstances and motive of the incident.
How did the injury happen?
A gunshot wound was recorded this Sunday evening in Lezha, in the area known as the Rrila intersection. The injured person is 30-year-old Sokol Daci, owner of the barbershop where the incident occurred. According to preliminary information, he was not the target of the attack, but was accidentally hit by bullets while he was inside his workplace, where other people were also inside the barbershop.
The perpetrators arrived in an Audi A3 vehicle in front of the barbershop. Three people got out of the car and fired a barrage of bullets towards the barbershop, where it is suspected that the target of the assassination, another person who was inside at the time, was located.
They then quickly fled the scene. According to preliminary information, it is suspected that there was also a return fire, while the person who was the target of the attack fled.
Meanwhile, the injured man was urgently transported to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, where he is in stable condition. He suffered three wounds, in the shoulder, abdomen and leg.
