A 53-year-old man declared internationally wanted by Spanish authorities has been arrested by police while traveling on the Elbasan-Peqi road.
Citizen Juli Bulla was arrested . He was wanted as part of the police operation codenamed "Alert".
According to the announcement, a court in Spain had imposed the security measure "prison arrest" on the 53-year-old for the criminal offenses of "Drug Trafficking", "Criminal Organization" and "Electricity Theft", as provided for by the Spanish Criminal Code.
These criminal offenses carry a maximum sentence of up to 9 years in prison. The procedures for his extradition to Spain are expected to continue in the coming days.
"The police operation codenamed "Alert" is being finalized, for the capture of a citizen declared internationally wanted.
Wanted by Spanish authorities for the criminal offenses of "Drug Trafficking", "Criminal Organization" and "Electricity Theft", the 53-year-old was captured and arrested for extradition purposes.
The services of the Narcotics Investigation Section, in continuation of the work to locate and capture citizens declared nationally and internationally wanted, based on information obtained through operational channels, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Alert".
As part of this operation, in cooperation with the Road Traffic services, it was possible to locate, capture and arrest, with the aim of extradition to Spain, citizen JB, 53 years old, resident of Vlora, on the Elbasan-Peqin road axis.
For this citizen, the Juzgado Central de Instrucción n. 1 – Audiencia Nacional has imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Drug trafficking", "Criminal organization" and "Electricity theft", provided for by the Spanish Criminal Code.
For these criminal offenses, the Spanish Penal Code provides for a maximum sentence of up to 9 years in prison.
"Interpol Tirana will carry out the procedures, in cooperation with counterparts in Spain, for the extradition of this citizen to Spain," the police announced.
