After a 10-day search and rescue operation, the Southern Infantry Regiment has found the body of 42-year-old Ilir Kurti. He is suspected of having committed suicide by jumping into the river, near the place known as "Blezënka Bridge", near the Osumi Canyons, in Skrapar.
According to the data, on February 20, in the area where the incident was suspected to have taken place, the motorcycle on which the 42-year-old was riding, some personal belongings and a mobile phone were found. Preliminary verifications show that he had sent a message to his brother, stating that he was jumping into the river.
Family members have stated that for several months the 42-year-old had been isolated and experiencing emotional difficulties, especially after the separation from his son. According to them, he had not had contact with his son for seven years, after his ex-wife left Skrapar for her hometown in Romania, taking the child with her.
The full circumstances of the incident remain the subject of investigation by the relevant authorities.
