The Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction has remanded in prison the three suspects in connection with the murder of 56-year-old Anesti Rama.
The victim's daughter, 26-year-old Emanilda Rama, his wife, Valbona Rama, as well as Çlirim Dogani, who is suspected of having had an intimate relationship with the victim's daughter, have been arrested.
It is learned that all three accused have denied the crime in court.
Sources from the defense lawyers indicate that the mother and daughter have given more than three different statements during the investigations in recent days. According to the lawyer, who was present at the interrogation of the two women at the Fier police station, they have changed their versions of the events several times, showing a marked instability in their testimony.
"The inconsistency of their testimonies may be an attempt to hide the truth," the lawyer says, adding that what is striking is the unusual calm and lack of remorse in their statements.
Investigations continue and it is expected that DNA analyses will help fully unravel the incident, especially to determine the exact role of Çlirim Dogan in this serious crime.
The serious incident shocked public opinion, while investigations have uncovered elements that lead to suspicions of collaboration between the three detainees in carrying out the murder.
It is suspected that the girl initially hit her father in the genitals, and after he fell to the ground, Dogani held his hands while she strangled him with a wire.
It is also suspected that they used sharp and cutting tools.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old's mother helped cover the tracks and clean the blood from the victim's body.
The crime was discovered through phone tapping, where the 26-year-old communicated with her associate, Dogani, who is suspected of having an intimate relationship with her. The latter was married and the father of two children.
