The police, by order of SPAK, conducted an operation in the area of Kruja, arresting 8 people involved in cannabis cultivation.
SPAK informs that the investigations started in 2020 and the arrest warrants were issued today.
The investigations within this criminal proceeding were carried out in cooperation with the structures of the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH), the State Police and the Police Supervision Agency.
From the conducted investigations, it results that the persons under investigation, part of two criminal groups, are involved in the criminal activity of cultivating narcotic substances with the aim of then putting them on the market, starting from 2020 onwards. Cultivation of narcotic plants is carried out in the Cudhi Administrative Unit of the Krujë Municipality, the villages of Noj, Shkrëtë, Rranxë, Bruz Mal, Bruz Zall, on the surface of forest land mainly owned by the "state", bordering areas with each other.
For the care and storage of narcotic plants, the suspected persons have hired workers and set up irrigation systems, then the narcotic substance has been collected and processed in special places with the aim of putting it on the market. Criminal groups have been helped and favored by some employees of the police structures, as well as those of the local administration of Kruje.
During the investigation, the areas cultivated with narcotic plants were identified and then checked, where thousands of narcotic plants planted in different plots and in different quantities were found and destroyed. In connection with this, samples of these plants were seized and they were expertly examined. From this examination, it was found that the seized plants are of the cannabis sattiva type.
Likewise, during the control exercised in only one of the narcotics collection sites, the amount of 145.5 kg of cannabis sattiva, specially packaged and ready for trade, was seized, among others.
On the part of the structures of the General Directorate of the State Police, 8 personal security measures have been executed so far for the persons under investigation:
– VT, LA, SV, Xh.Z., S. SH., AP, Sh. I., and AP
Investigations continue regarding the execution of security measures for the accomplices of the arrested persons, as well as the collection and securing of evidence for other persons who are involved in this criminal activity.
