
The writer Ismail Kadare has been decorated with the "Hasan Prishtina" order by President Vjosa Osmani.
Kadare was thanked for the dedication with which he defended Kosovo's right to freedom and independence, as well as for the extraordinary skill in the art of words expressed through his works.
The decoration of the well-known Albanian writer was made in the Presidency of Kosovo, on the days when the 23rd edition of the Book Fair is being held in Pristina.
Speaking about the Albanian writer Ismail Kadare, President Osmani said that his work is an artistic encyclopedia of the everyday life of Albanians and their history.
" For the extraordinary mastery in the art of words expressed throughout his works, for the dedication with which he has defended Kosovo's right to freedom and independence, as well as for the literary and intellectual values with which he has presented himself around the world and with which has exalted the Albanian language, culture and literature, as well as the Albanian people themselves ", said Osmani.
Meanwhile, the writer Ismail Kadare said that this order means great respect for him.
" I am very touched to be among you for this great honor, every one, every Albanian would dream of such a thing. It is a rare fate that a nation honors you and calls you a co-defender of its rights, its freedoms, especially when this nation has a difficult history," said Kadare .
