Albania has opened its doors to big names in the global film industry, through the “Fam Tour Albania” initiative, which is taking place for the first time in the country. Representatives from some of the most prestigious studios such as HBO, Warner Brothers, Amazon, Disney, Paramount and NBC-Universal are participating in a multi-day tour of various cities in the country to explore the opportunities that Albania offers for international filming and co-productions.
During this tour, producers and decision-makers from the film industry are getting up close and personal with the natural beauties, historical and cultural heritage, as well as unique locations that can serve as ideal backdrops for international-scale film projects.
In a meeting held in Tirana with the leaders of these companies, the Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, stressed the Albanian government's commitment to building a sustainable and competitive ecosystem for the creative industry. He highlighted the measures taken, including fiscal incentives, legal reforms and investments in infrastructure and the formation of new talents.
One of the most important developments in this regard is the collaboration with the “Catalyst Story Institute”, one of the most renowned institutions in the US for the development of screenwriters and filmmakers. The institute has already opened the “Tirana Training Institute”, a center that aims to promote professional training and the internationalization of the Albanian film sector.
This initiative marks an important step towards transforming Albania into a new destination for film productions in Europe, paving the way for new investments and important international collaborations in the field of art and cinema.
