Arlind Qori, chairman of the "Lëvizja Bashjkë" party, explained why the party he leads did not join the protest of the DP and its allies tonight at the prime minister's office.
Qorri expressed his disagreement with the idea that his presence or the force he leads alongside Sali Berisha would bring more citizens to the protests. According to him, sharing the same platform with Berisha would alienate supporters of the "Together Movement", who would consider it a betrayal of the principles of the uncompromising fight against corruption and factors that, according to him, serve the economic oligarchy.
" I don't listen at all to the rights, the calls of the old and compromised political factors. I don't agree that if we were with Sali Berisha today, there would be more people in the square. Because if I were crazy enough to share the same tribune or the same square with Sali Berisha, no one would come to me, neither from behind nor on my side. All supporters of the "Together Movement" would consider me a traitor to all the principles that I have held so far in politics, which is the uncompromising fight against every corrupt and destructive factor of Albanian society against all those who serve the economic oligarchy. Now today Albania has many reasons to protest, and there are even more reasons to protest than there are people in the protests. There is corruption, there is state capture, there is a comprehensive criminalization of public institutions.
This latest case of AKSHI shows something that is truly despicable, where the matter reaches the point of kidnapping a person. If that businessman had not agreed to withdraw from the tender, who knows, we would find that deserter in pieces today, because kidnapping is to convince you to do something otherwise, he will execute in a completely mafia-like manner. A little while ago I was listening to an Italian anti-mafia prosecutor, Nikola Grateri, the famous one, who when talking about the Albanian mafia said that it is the second in Europe after the 'Ndragetta. Because, Grateri said, it comes from an extremely corrupt state, where money is laundered on an extraordinary scale. An extremely corrupt state, very large money laundering. It leads to the Albanian mafia being very strong today, not only in Albania, but also in Europe. Part of this mafia, part of this compromised system. Mafiosi, oligarchs, of course, is the government in the first place and Edi Rama as its leader. As I told you, Albania has many reasons to protest, there are reasons to deal with the effects of corruption. Pensioners cannot buy a bottle of yogurt, while Mr. Agasi spent three million euros on wine alone from the money that was made in a day through corrupt affairs and for which all links of the state are responsible. Why don't the opposition parties unite?
"For me, politics is first and foremost a moral alternative. In Albania, it is the opposite. I believe that in the name of this morality we will succeed. If we remain between Rama and Berisha, we will not succeed. I believe that the Together Movement is the catalyst. Politics must first and foremost be principled ," said Qori, among other things, in a connection with the show "The Unexposed".
