When it comes to wealth, all politics comes together. MPs came together for a pay rise a few weeks ago, but there is a kind of silent pact when it comes to property. No one deals with each other's property. Most of them have villas, luxury cars, land, etc., but they don't mention it to each other. They can say anything, but they never touch wealth.
But in addition to the deputies who do not talk about each other's properties, it seems as if the High Inspectorate of Assets Declaration and Control is no longer dealing with them. For years, this institution has turned into a bunker and it is not known whether someone with problems has been found or not. Assets are also still not being published online, although millions have been thrown. ILDKP announced that it has sued 37 names, but it is not known who they are. SPAK itself in the annual report mentions KLSH, but does not mention ILDKP in any line. So most of the lawsuits are for low level officials.
Apparently, this has pleased the deputies a lot. On Thursday, the Assembly will meet in a plenary session and a resolution for ILDKP will be approved. Deputies greatly appreciate the work of this institution.
They even appreciate it so much that they have given some sporadic issues as recommendations, which are written in every resolution. There is no criticism anywhere. It looks like mugesa they are happy, as long as they get amnesty for hiding assets. Even the opposition MPs did not say half a word against her when the head of the ILDKP reported.
The recommendations of the Assembly are:
- To guarantee the full functionality of the Electronic System of Declaration of Private Interests that contributes directly to strengthening the credibility of the institution, engaging in increasing the capacities of the representatives of the Responsible Authorities and in taking the necessary legal and administrative measures to guarantee sustainability and information security.
- To commit more to ensure effectiveness in the implementation of the law for whistleblowers in order to encourage the reporting of corrupt practices both by public sector units and by private sector units, through regular training and information of the staff of these units, with special focus on state police structures in accordance with the recommendations made by GRECO. / Pamphlet
