The debate on the concession of Butrint has been reignited again.
The former deputy of the SP Auron Tare, at the same time the former director of Butrint, also spoke about this issue.

"What is happening today in Butrint, apart from the part of giving Butrint to the management of a foreign fund, which is the first and unique case in the world, has never happened, but the pressure that is happening inside the protected area of Butrint is one of the things that I personally was part of a team with Lord Rama when he became Minister of Culture, that created the Butrint National Park, 29 square kilometers, a protected area under the "Ramsar" convention and later in 2000 , when I was the director, it was declared a UNESCO world heritage. Both myself and Mr. Rama have been partisans of the concept brought by two of the most important people of cultural heritage in England, to protect those landscapes from what would happen to the area in the tourist development.
