We have one request, to have a functional democracy. This is what the head of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, said in the show "Open" on News24, answering questions about what the opposition wanted for the return of normality in the Assembly.
Bardhi said that a functional democracy means that we also have a free and fair election process.
He called Edi Rama a liar, referring to the statement of the Prime Minister, who said that as long as he will be in this position, communication with the opposition will not be a problem.
"During the PD government, Sali Berisha invited Edi Rama and allowed him to write the Electoral Code as he thought. Today he made a statement that casts ashes in the eyes of the EU Ambassador ", said Bardhi.
He said that in January, when the opposition was in opposition action, there were diplomats who were concerned about what was happening at that time.
" Today we have not announced any action in the Parliament of Albania. We have not announced a boycott, nor surrender of mandates, nor normalcy, nor flight, but we will respond step by step, just as a normal opposition acts that does not close its eyes" , said Bardhi.
He said that every Thursday, whenever there is Parliament, we will not repeat the same scenario of burning chairs.
" We could burn the chairs inside the Assembly, burning the chairs is not violence. We will apply different forms and give the messages we want to give ", said Bardhi.
He said that Ervin Salianj was taken to prison, while the Court's decision has not been announced, while here it is said that chairs were burned, which is not violence.
