The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted to the protest of Vlora residents over the lack of drinking water.
"Good luck to the citizens of Vlora who have taken the gallantry down their throats, the thieves who have left the residents without water for 3 days and are themselves consumed by parties and riots," Berisha wrote on Facebook.
Citizens of Vlora today interrupted a gala evening organized by the Vlora Municipality at the city's "Petro Marko" theater, breaking down the doors of the venue and clashing with the police.
They entered with water bottles and banners in their hands to demand the return of water, while the gala evening was interrupted after the protesters refused to leave the theater premises. Afterwards, the citizens continued their protest on the streets, blocking vehicle traffic.
They have even announced another protest in front of City Hall, the next day at 10:00.
