The giving of the stamp to Foltore and the recognition of Sali Berisha as the chairman of the DP is rumored to be Edi Rama's scenario, in continuation of the bargain that he first secretly made with him, while for 3 months they have been openly cooperating with Foltore, which Lindita Nikolla recognized it as PD without receiving the seal yet.
After the decision that legitimized Sali Berisha, the leader of the Democratic Party, his deputies and media are trumpeting him as a candidate for prime minister, saying that they will strengthen official ties with the USA and opposing the DASH decision, which has sanctioned "non- grata" as former president and former prime minister, family immersed in corruption and ties to crime.
However, the euphoria and the dream of the pulpitists for the rehabilitation and acceptance of Saliu by the USA, and the recognition of the DP with Saliu as president or even prime minister, was overturned by the statement of the American Embassy in Tirana, with this firm position:
- "Our position regarding individuals declared non-grata remains unchanged: - We do not engage with persons declared undesirable under the US sanctions authority, and everyone should consider carefully how they are working with individuals of announced by the USA".
So, the USA has not changed and will not change its attitude towards Sali Berisha, determined after his declaration "non grata" on May 19, 2021, when they bluntly stated that there will be no cooperation with him, even if to take power and become prime minister.
The USA concretized this position, and after Sali Berisha was given the DP stamp, saying that there will be no cooperation with this party, as long as Sali Berisha is in charge, sanctioned personally and family "non-grata".
But in the US statement, there is also this reminder: - Everyone (meaning the political forces, their leaders and deputies), should carefully examine how they are working with sanctioned "non grata" individuals, who have violated the interests and US security.
This warning is for Prime Minister Edi Rama and all SP MPs, who have opposed the US position, linking up and collaborating with Sali Berisha against the media and the judiciary.
The US warning is also for PD MPs, as an open call to distance themselves from the "non-grata" Sali Berisha, not recognizing him as the chairman nor a member of the party, even from his "non-grata" daughter Argita Berisha, who aspires to take the leadership of the Democratic Party.
