"Scenario with Vucic against Kosovo"/ Albin Kurti accused him of being
Miroslav Lajcak and Bajram Begaj in New York

As it has not yet been 1 week since the Brussels table, where the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti described the EU emissary for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak as "side with Serbia", today he met with the President of Albania Bajram Begaj.

Lajcak met with Begaj in New York, where he has been for several days as part of the UN Security Council meeting.

5 days ago, after the meeting with Vucic in Brussels, Kurti appeared at a conference and said that the EU envoy is taking Serbia's side and has become a party to Vucic.

"The President of Serbia and Lajcak reacted with the same opinion and with the same coordinated disregard. Lajcak and Vucic were coordinated with one goal, to make the impossible a scenario in which the agreement is implemented in full. On September 14, there was a mediator's position against Kosovo and against the basic agreement in particular", Kurti told the media.

While in the meeting with Lajçak, President Begaj says that he assured the EU special envoy that Albania remains determined to continue playing its role in de-escalating the tense situation between the two countries and returning to the dialogue table.

"I assured the EU Special Envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, that Albania remains determined to continue playing its role for the de-escalation of the tense situation between the two countries and for the return to the dialogue table. The role
of of the EU in this process, but also in all the important developments in our region, is of particular importance," writes Begaj in his reaction.

After Albin Kurti's accusations, Lajcak received the support of the West, with the European Union and the USA asking the government in Pristina to change its approach to the dialogue with Serbia, taking into consideration its obligations.

For Albin Kurti, mediator Miroslav Lajçak has sided with Serbia. The Prime Minister of Kosovo explained the reasons for the failure of the September 14 meeting in Brussels, while accusing the European Union official that in coordination with Aleksandër Vucic they had prepared a scenario against him and that they are deliberately harming the future of Kosovo.

Kurti announced that after the meeting, he sent a letter to Washington, Berlin, Paris and Rome, detailing his complaints about Lajcak's work in facilitating dialogue. The Prime Minister asked the EU institutions to hold Lajcak accountable, as he revealed an episode during the last meeting.

Regarding the punitive measures that the EU has imposed on Kosovo, Kurti underlined that he expects them to be removed, as he claimed that his government has fulfilled its part of the agreement and that now the situation in the North is very calm. At the press conference, he also addressed the opposition's ongoing demands for early parliamentary elections.
