Security expert Bedri Elezi spoke about the murder of Liridona Ademaj, whose body was reburied today.
In an interview for Euronews Albania, he emphasized that the statement made by Ademaj's husband, Naim Murseli, who is suspected of ordering the murder of his wife, was not at all convincing.
Among other things, he said that it was Naim himself who made the complaint that his wife was killed, while he said that the latter just heard the screams and went to ask for help from others.
" Naim Murseli said that while he and his wife were driving to dinner, a masked person appeared in front of their car and asked them to stop and demanded money and items such as gold. Murseli got out of the car but his wife stayed inside the car. According to Murseli, he no longer looked from behind, but focused on the protection of children. After leaving about 500 meters, he heard screams, and then headed towards the house to ask for help from people. This is his statement that was actually not convincing at all. The children did not see the moment when their mother was shot dead. It was Naim himself who made the complaint about the murder of his wife ", said Elezi.
According to him, if the charges are proven, the murder suspects can be sentenced from 25 years to life imprisonment.
" It is a very complex event. The only witness who could testify about Liridona's murder is Naim himself. For this event, at least two witnesses must be provided. In this particular case, premeditated murder and involvement in three crimes, organization, murder and conspiracy can have a sentence of over 25 years in prison to life in prison ," he said.
