The father of Marigona Osmani, Muhabi Osmani, has shown that his family has received threats through messages from profiles on social networks in the name of Dardan Krivaca from prison, sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of their daughter - Marigona, in 2021 in Ferizaj.

Osmani says that his wife was threatened through messages on the phone.

"There were threats against his wife through SMS. He said that even this big daughter we have [I will do the same to her]. We have the report to the Police, now they are dealing with this case" - declared Osmani.

The Basic Court in Ferizaj sentenced Dardan Krivaqa to life imprisonment for the murder of 18-year-old Marigona Osmani, while the accomplice Arbër Sejdiu was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Dardan Krivaqa on August 21, 2021, around 10:14, in his apartment, without the consent of the deceased Marigona Osmani, forced her to have sexual relations with him.

The day after, on August 22, 2021, Krivaqa and Sejdiu are accused of having killed Marigona Osmani, in an attempt to hide the violence.

Krivaqa and Sejdiu are accused of a series of criminal offenses, including rape, aiding in the commission of rape, and aggravated murder in collaboration.

The indictment says that Sejdiu helped Krivaqa in committing the crime of rape. He is accused that even though he was aware that Krivaqa was committing the act of rape, he had deliberately taken actions to facilitate the commission of this criminal offense and had constantly observed whether any residents were moving there.

Both are also accused of trying to hide the traces of the crime, trying to hide the security camera footage.

Krivaqa previously expressed regret for what happened. Previously, at the request of the defense lawyer, Krivaqa underwent a psychiatric examination, where it was established that Krivaqa does not have any disorder or mental illness of a psychotic nature.

The Collective for Feminist Thought and Action has announced an activity in front of the Basic Court in Ferizaj.

The Collective for Feminist Thought and Action also said that the "cruel violence" that, according to the organization, Krivaqa, with the help of Sejdi, inflicted on Marigona Osman until she died, cannot be forgotten.

The defense lawyers of Krivaqa and Sejdi had requested the dismissal of the indictment, but the judge of the case, Sahit Krasniqi, on September 2, 2022, rejected the request and the opposition to the evidence presented by the defense teams of the accused.

According to the data, from 2010 to 2023, 50 women were killed in Kosovo. Human rights organizations have, in some cases, blamed the authorities for failing to protect women at risk of violence.
