The head of the NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR, General Angelo Michele Ristuccia, has called on Pristina and Belgrade to give up "useless rhetoric" and talk to reduce tensions.
" I again invite both sides to avoid useless rhetoric and face this challenge at the negotiation table, as this is the only way to resolve this situation," he told reporters at the KFOR headquarters in Pristina. .
Earlier, he gave an interview to Tanjugun, a Serbian newspaper. In the short interview, the Italian commander of KFOR assesses the situation as very tense, although he admits that at first glance, the situation seems calm. However, Ristuccia estimates, the situation remains very explosive.
"The situation now is very tense, as I said before, and it is calming down these days, but it is very explosive ," said Ristuccia.
