The former competitor of "Për'puthen", Alba Pollozhani, was today invited to "Live From Tirana", where she spoke about sexual harassment.
"In my opinion, everyone tries it for the first time to get in touch with a woman. They see a beautiful woman passing by on the street, they want to get to know her, no matter what their long-term or short-term goals are, because we are not in their heads. He'll try it the first time, it's the most normal thing there is. But based on my reaction, if I don't let him go and he continues against my will, then I consider it sexual harassment. But if I myself clear the way, it can no longer be called sexual harassment", said Alba first.
Asked if it happened to him that he was sexually harassed, Pollozhani said 'that it never happened'.
"In the work environment, I have always been lucky to have worked in family businesses and held high positions, and no one has dared to do such a thing. They knew who I am there and what position I have, both at work and in the family. It has never happened to me personally, neither at school, nor at work, nor in any other place," she said.
While when asked if she herself has harassed anyone, the former competitor of "Per'puthen" said that she was "lucky enough to be harassed by men first".
"To be honest, I have never bullied anyone in my life. As a woman, I have strong principles and I may have been lucky enough to have men harass me before. I'm a very serious guy, I wait to be teased before, then I can open the door for him to continue if I'm interested in getting to know him. If I'm not interested, I turn my head, no response, no body signs, nothing. This in my life has resulted very positively.
I want to say one more thing, a lot has to do with the part that counts as unwanted sexual harassment or counts as desirable harassment, it depends on the person you are dealing with. For example, if a woman, now that the time has come, someone drives past her with a Golf 5 and is harassing her, she considers it direct sexual harassment and would not even look at her. But in case the same person were to pass them in the Porsche, then she can open the doors herself to enter. It would not count as sexual harassment at all. I want to come to the conclusion that the same person, if he were in very poor economic conditions, would not look at him and say 'this is a perversion'. But in case this person was with an expensive car, he would say 'how good, his soul, his heart' and he would enter the car", Alba said.
Speaking about the denunciations of cases of sexual harassment, Pollozhani said "who to denounce, an owner who is a powerful businessman?". According to her, there is a problem in the state system.
"The first is the culture in the family, parents should treat children from a young age so that they are free to tell them even the bad things that happen to them during the day. Not like me when I was 10 years old I was afraid to tell my mom 'how beautiful that boy's hair is'. Second, we also spend a lot of time at school. Even there, there should be a system, control, and discipline, and children should be taught and educated about who is good and who is bad. Then on top of all this, comes the state system. If a state does not have control and sanction, then these things will exist", she said.
