The American company Meta, owner of the social network Facebook, has announced that it is introducing an artificial intelligence-based assistant to its Facebook Dating service, which aims to help users meet their soulmate.
Artificial Intelligence can suggest users, for example, to search for a "girl from Brooklyn who works in the tech industry," or improve the user's profile to make it more attractive to potential partners, Tech Crunch reports.
The new "Meet Cute" feature offers users a "surprise encounter" each week, selected by the algorithm, thus, according to Meta, reducing the fatigue of endlessly scrolling through profiles. The company emphasizes that this feature makes it easier to discover new contacts, especially for younger users.
The number of young people aged 18 to 29 creating profiles on Facebook Dating has increased by 10 percent compared to last year, although the total number of users still remains lower than that of competitors like Tinder or Hinge, which have tens of millions of active users every day.
Facebook Dating is available in the United States, most European countries, and other regions, but has not yet been officially launched in Serbia.
Artificial intelligence-based assistants have already become standard in dating apps, and Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd is even considering introducing a tool that would attend meetings instead of users.
