
Elon Musk is on track to become the world's first billionaire by 2027, according to a report from Informa Connect Academy.
Musk's wealth, which has grown at an average annual rate of 110%, is largely fueled by his roles as CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
Currently valued at $251 billion, Musk holds the title of the world's richest person according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Other contenders for trillionaire status include Indian business tycoon Gautam Adani, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Indonesian energy tycoon Prajogo Pangestu.
The report mentions that all of them could reach trillionaire status by 2028 if their wealth continues to grow at current rates.
Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH and Mark Zuckerberg of Meta are predicted to reach trillionaire status by 2030.
