Madonna's 18-year-old son David Banda gave an insight into his life after high school graduation. In an Instagram Live, asked by a fan why he likes living alone, David replied that he does before clarifying that he currently shares a house with his girlfriend.
"It's nice to experience 9 o'clock at night, being hungry and realizing that I don't have enough money to buy food, we don't have enough food at home and we're suffering for bread," he said.
"It's fun", added the son of the famous diva.
A source tells PEOPLE that Madonna and David remain "very close" and that the superstar has "always been supportive of all her children."
The 18-year-old lives in the Bronx and has been giving guitar lessons to earn extra cash, despite Madonna's estimated net worth of $850 million.
It is unclear when he left Madonna's home, but media reports say he was by his mother's side throughout her health fluctuations. After returning home more than a week and a half later, the Queen of Pop said she was "grateful" to be alive after battling a severe bacterial infection.
