Sharon Stone has shared one of the most painful stories of her life, talking about the abuse she says she experienced as a child from her father and the moment she decided to openly confront him.
In the podcast "The Person Who Believed in Me ," the 68-year-old actress described her father figure as complex, oscillating between positive memories and violent episodes.
" My father was a truly fantastic person... very sophisticated, tough, smart and calm ," she said.
But, as he later added, the reality within the family was completely different.
"At the same time, he was abusive. He was tougher on me than he was on my younger brother ," Stone confessed.
The actress recalled that physical violence was part of her early childhood, until at the age of 14 she decided to no longer remain silent.
"Yeah, he would throw me down the stairs and then take off his belt... and hit me," she said, adding that that's when she decided to confront him.
He described the decisive moment as a turning point, when he stood up to his father and spoke to him without fear.
"Do you have to hit me again to feel like a man?... I will never love you again. It's over," the actress recalled her words.
According to her account, this encounter had an immediate impact.
"He cried. And he never hit anyone again. Then we started talking... we got really close ," Stone said.
Her statements have sparked widespread discussion online, bringing attention back to a difficult personal story that she has kept away from the public for years.
