A fire explosion occurred on the set of the movie "Gladiator 2".
Six crew members working on the sequel to Sir Ridley Scott's 2000 epic were rushed to hospital after being engulfed in flames when a fireball erupted on set.
The stars, including Normal People actor Paul Mescal and Oscar winner Denzel Washington, were allegedly around when the incident took place in Morocco's Sahara desert, according to the Mirror.
"It was terrifying, a huge ball of fire flew up and caught several crew members in its path," a source said.
"Everyone involved, from the most common people to the big names, are shocked by this," the source continued.
Alongside Mescal and Washington, The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal and Irish actor Barry Keoghan, who was nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actor this year, will also appear in the highly anticipated film.
Before the shooting incident, "Gladiator 2" was scheduled to hit theaters in November of this year.
Russell Crowe won an Oscar for Best Actor for his portrayal of Maximus Decimus Meridius in Gladiator in 2000.
Speaking on a podcast in January, Crowe explained that he wouldn't be appearing in the Gladiator sequel, but shared a little information about it.
“So that young kid has grown up and is now the emperor. I don't know what else happens at that point, so that's the idea. So it's not a remake. And it's not a direct sequel," the actor previously said.
