A new Donald Trump biopic is "in the works," which is expected to present him in a "much more positive light" than previous biographies, and a big budget should ensure that. Last year, the film "The Intern" was released, in which Sebastian Stan plays the US president. The story takes place in the 1970s and 1980s, as Trump builds a career as a real estate developer, long before entering politics and becoming one of the most powerful people in the world.
Trump himself has attacked the project, describing it as a “slanderous and politically vile attack” that sought to destroy his reelection campaign last fall. However, he may be more interested in the new film, which is believed to have a much lighter approach. It’s still too early to talk about details, but according to Deadline, a whopping $90 million is being invested in the biopic. The film, which is still untitled, is scheduled to be presented to potential investors at the Cannes Film Festival this month.
A director has not yet been hired, nor has an actor been hired to portray the 78-year-old Trump. However, Andrea Iervolino, who produced the films “Ferrari” and “To the Bone,” will work on the project and bring another film about Trump’s life to the big screen. Although the film has a large budget, it is not yet known whether Trump himself is involved in the project or if he has given his consent.
Iervolino hopes to begin filming in late 2025. Speaking about the film, Iervolino describes it as “a major new biography focused on the life and legacy of Donald J. Trump, real estate mogul, television icon, and the 45th and 47th president of the United States.” Although Trump has been on the public stage for decades and began his first presidential term in 2017, “The Intern” was the first time Hollywood had portrayed him.
