It reappeared after a long time in public, what was the message behind Kate

Kate Middleton's second official appearance, after the announcement of her cancer diagnosis, was full of symbolism.

The Princess of Wales attended the Wimbledon tennis tournament on July 14, accompanied by her daughter and sister. For her look, she opted for a custom-made gown by London-based luxury brand Safiyaa.

The bright shade of purple was a nod to the official colors of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, of which it is patron, and a color associated with blue blood, and was often chosen by the late Queen Elizabeth, who was known for her love of bright colors.

“Kate has a history of picking the right colors for her Wimbledon look, and she did it again this year,” Bethan Holt, fashion director at the Daily Telegraph, told PEOPLE. "The purple dress highlights how important this role is for her and why she chose this event to make her second public appearance this year."

"It is also the color of courage, which can be an indirect reference to the fight against disease. I think she looked great and it was great to see her so relaxed," she continued.

"I'm sure a lot of people would see how happy she looked and take heart from that. It is indeed a beacon of hope for many, but it also comes with a lot of pressure. On the other hand, she has a whole team of people helping her and resources that the rest of us don't have access to, but I think just her presence can really lift people's spirits."
