The president of Naples, Aurelio De Laurentis, has ended up under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of Rome for "false accounting" in relation to the agreement that brought Viktor Osimheni to the Neapolitans from Lila. The number one of the southern club, according to the information published by the daily "La Repubblica", is heading towards the trial for the conclusion of the negotiations, where the Nigerian striker moved to Italy for 71.2 million euros.
What has brought doubts has been the evaluation of 21 million euros of four new players, which is supposed to have brought about a significant adjustment of the club's balance sheet, and consequently the possibility of an investment that Napoli would hardly have made under the conditions normal. Prosecutors in Rome would have closed the investigation into De Laurentiis, in which other members of the Italian champion club have also been investigated, after last summer the same investigation was moved from Naples to Rome, where Napoli's budget was approved.

In hindsight, the most expensive purchase of the De Laurentiis era, i.e. the 71.2 million euros spent to buy Osimhen from the French club, despite the fact that "only" 50 million euros were spent on the Nigerian card, being estimated at around 21 million euros the Greek goalkeeper Karnezis and three young footballers who then disappeared from the football scene.
Luixi Liguori, Claudio Manxi and Ciro Palmieri are currently not worth even 10 percent of the amount they were valued at just a few years ago, as investigators are convinced of De Laurentiis' guilt. For the Rome prosecutor's office, it was a "false accounting" with the "cinematographer" president that now risks 1 to 5 years of imprisonment.
