Xhimi Berisha is a Kosovo Albanian who has been living and working in Switzerland for years as a local football manager. In 2015 he became part of the board of the Swiss club Samaks as an advisor, while in 2018 he was appointed sports director of SC YF Juventus until 2020 where he was appointed general director of Grasshoppers.
Today, Berisha has been appointed general director at the Schaffhausen club.
" FC Shafhausen is a club with tradition that has great infrastructure and a lot of potential. Our goal is to further expand management capabilities, support financially and more broadly. Priority and urgent, as well as the basis for the next steps, is the improvement of the sports situation ", the new president Berisha, who was recently the managing director of Grasshopper, told the club's official website.
Berisha has also engaged Mehmed, who has retired from active football, in the staff. The 41-year-old played 76 matches with the Swiss national team, while he had a great career at the club level, playing for teams such as Winterthur, Zurich, Dynamo Kyiv, Freiburg, Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, as well as Antalyaspor.
A few years ago, Xhimi Berisha tried to privatize the Egnatia club, but his initiative was blocked by the Municipality of Rrogozhina.
