England face Spain in Berlin on Sunday in the Euro 2024 final, but the Three Lions do so without knowing who will be their manager from next year.
Gareth Southgate has guided the Three Lions to their second consecutive European Championship final, becoming the first England manager to reach a major final.
Southgate is hoping for better luck against Spain after tasting defeat to Italy at Wembley in 2021, but it remains to be seen whether it will be his last game in charge as his current deal expires later this year.
The FA have options if Southgate decides to leave
HITC has revealed that the FA have been working on options and it is understood that Newcastle's Eddie Howe, former Chelsea boss Graham Potter and current U21 boss Lee Carsley are seen as the main options.
The FA, however, believe Southgate's World Cup stay would be the best option and they will give him some time after Euro 2024, regardless of the outcome of the final, to decide his future.
England begin their Nations League campaign in September, but their World Cup qualifying program does not begin until March 2025.
