A road accident in Timis County, Romania, claimed the lives of seven people, while three others were injured and hospitalized in critical condition, with initial information indicating that they were PAOK fans on their way to watch the Europa League match against Lyon.
The accident occurred today, Tuesday, on the E70 highway, near the town of Lugojel, when a tanker truck and a passenger van (8+1 people) collided 'head-to-head', as reported by Radio România Timişoara.
" A rescue vehicle, a fire engine, two full emergency teams and a multiple casualty transport vehicle immediately rushed to the scene of the accident ," reports the local emergency rescue service ISU Timis.
" Six deceased people were identified at the scene of the accident. At the same time, three other people are receiving medical treatment and will be taken to the hospital ," the service adds.
In an attempt to return to its lane after overtaking, the van collided head-on with the oncoming tanker truck, and the footage is terrifying.
The minibus involved in the accident was travelling from Greece to France and was carrying PAOK fans, with the Greek club shocked by the news.
