In recent days, UEFA is in total chaos, as Aleksandër Ceferin has revealed his plan to stay at the head of this body until 2031. According to the British tabloids, UEFA's number one has asked to change the statute during the meeting of the Executive Committee held in Hamburg a few days ago.
The changes are said to be related to the duration of the president in this post. According to "Daily Mail", Ceferin wants to change the article from three to four, which limits the possibility of the president's re-election to this post.
Ceferin, together with his allies, has been working for months on this plan, which was formally laid out a few days ago. According to the Slovenian's plan, these changes must be ratified at the UEFA Congress, which will be held in February.
Against this plan is David Gill. The former General Director of Manchester United has considered these ideas of Ceferin as undemocratic and against the good of football.
To pass such a proposal, Ceferin needs 2/3 of the votes of the 55 UEFA members at the congress to be held in Paris.
