After the negotiations in Pristina, Franco Foda at the head of the Kosovo team

Franco Foda will be the new coach of the Kosovo National Team.

The German media report that the former coach of the Austrian National Team recently visited Pristina to familiarize himself with the working conditions in the Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK).

The 57-year-old German has spent his managerial career mainly in Austria. He was in charge of Sturm Graz, both in the first and second team, for a very long time, starting from 2002 to 2012.

Then he moved to the German team, Kaiserslautern, to return again after a year to Sturm Graz. After a three-year period with the latter, Foda became the head of the Austrian National Team.

On the Austrian bench, he stayed from 2017 to 2022. This was followed by a short spell at Zurich in Switzerland before he left in September 2022. Since then, Foda has not managed a team.

"Foda is said to have already been in Pristina to negotiate possible cooperation with the national association of Kosovo. A final decision can probably come in the next few days," the Austrian media said.

The German has won three trophies in his career as a coach, grabbing the championship title in Austria and the Austrian Cup with Sturm Graz. While with the second team of Sturm Graz, he won the Steiermark League Champion.

In terms of his career statistics, with the clubs and Austria, Foda has managed 633 games winning 286, drawing 141 and losing 206. He has averaged 1.58 points per game.

With the Austrian National Team, the German collected 48 matches, achieving 27 wins, six draws and 15 losses. He averaged 1.81 points per game. He also guided the team to Euro 2020 qualification.
