Tiago Alcantara, the famous Spanish midfielder, has decided to end his football career at the age of 33. The player who was thought to be the ideal successor to Xavi and Iniesta thanks to his skills in both phases of the game, unfortunately failed to perform at those levels due to constant injuries that penalized his career.
The son of former Brazilian footballer Mazinho, he grew up in Spain and excelled in Barcelona's academy, making his first-team debut to quickly become a household name. He then moved to Bayern Munich in the years of Pep Guardiola's management there, while in the last four years he was part of Liverpool, collecting during his career 46 games with the Spanish shirt.
A career in well-known clubs with many successes, but also penalized by numerous injuries that have left him playing only 534 games. In the last four years at Liverpool, he has played only 51 games in the championship, constantly stopped by physical problems that have apparently convinced him to hang up his boots.
