Before the start of training on the eve of the decisive Champions League match against Atletico Madrid, Barcelona coach Hansi Flick expressed his dissatisfaction with the condition of the pitch at the "Metropolitano" stadium and conveyed this concern to UEFA officials.
Footage published by El Desmarque shows the German coach addressing representatives of European football's governing body and showing them a section of the pitch. It is not yet clear whether Flick's dissatisfaction is related solely to the height of the grass or also to the fact that the pitch appears too dry.
With a cautious and correct approach, the Barcelona coach expressed his reservations just over 24 hours before the match against Atletico Madrid, where a place in the Champions League semi-finals is at stake. It remains to be seen whether his complaint will bring about any concrete change.
Barcelona enters this quarter-final second leg after losing the first leg 2-0 and is aiming for a difficult upset against the Madrid team.
