"Satanic garbage", the Olympic athlete is suspended for the Christian

The International Judo Federation (IJF) has penalized Serbia's Nemanja Majdov for violating the organization's religious rules during a match at the Paris Olympics, the athlete announced on social media on Monday.

Majdov said he was informed of the decision 15 days ago and was told the five-month ban comes after he made the sign of the cross before a match against Greece's Teodor Tselidis.

The athlete said that until the ban expires, he will not be able to participate in any tournament or preparatory phase.

In an Instagram post, Majdov said that in his response letter to the IJF, he had objected to apologizing for the gesture.

"Nothing new for me personally, just a new page in my career and a new life experience. "I am sorry that such a beautiful and difficult sport as judo has fallen into such things," wrote the athlete.

During his match against Tselidis, Majdov suffered an early defeat after picking up three yellow cards. Angered by the disqualification, Majdov spoke out strongly against the decision and the Paris Olympics as a whole.

“Satanic garbage. Their judgment is poisoned... They disqualified me for two minutes and didn't give me the chance to show anything... These values of yours, sport and the Olympics are just trash," wrote Majdov in a series of deleted Instagram posts.

"Judo is a sold sport. 100% of the match result is controlled by the referees. Those who bow go ahead. You will never get that from me. I don't need such a medal".
