The 2025-2026 season is not turning out to be one of the best for Kristjan Asllani. The midfielder of the Albanian national team has faced numerous difficulties, after two consecutive loans from Inter, first to Torino and then to Besiktas. His performances have raised questions about the future.
Asllani started the season on loan at Turin, but failed to settle in. According to reports, his form did not convince the club's management, leading to the early termination of the deal. This forced Inter to look for another alternative for the player's development.
At the end of the January transfer window, the Albanian midfielder was transferred to Besiktas, again on loan. However, his debut was negative: he came on as a substitute in the 76th minute against Koniaspor and was sent off just seven minutes later, receiving a two-match suspension.
After returning to the field, Asllani has had more minutes as a starter, but the statistics remain modest:
8 games played and 1 assist. These figures have not fully convinced the Turkish club's management.
According to "Gazzetta dello Sport", Asllani's season is considered negative, especially in relation to the expectations Inter had when they transferred him from Empoli as a potential successor to Hakan Çalhanoglu. The Italian media emphasizes that the player has not been able to cope with the pressure at high levels.
According to the same sources, Besiktas are expected not to exercise the purchase option of around 12 million euros. Asllani could return to Inter in the summer. His future remains open and unclear.
