Cristiano Ronaldo miraculously escaped a red card in Portugal's EURO 2024 qualifier against Slovakia after kicking goalkeeper Martin Dubravka in the face. At the moment of the match between Portugal and Slovakia, the legendary striker was given the simplest of chances to double the score, and in his efforts he hit the goalkeeper with his heels in the face, who arrived at the ball ahead of the Portuguese striker. An action that appeared to be a shot for a red card.
However, referee Glen Nyberg only awarded a yellow card, to the disbelief of Slovakia's players and fans, who were left bewildered that Ronaldo had escaped without being sent off.
One of the players who looked the most confused was Slovakian captain Milan Skriniar, who ran to tackle Ronaldo shortly after he left Dubravka lying on the ground.
Portugal leads Group J with 15 points from 5 games.
