At the age of 32, Shkodran Mustafi has decided to retire from football.
The World Champion with Germany in 2014 will start a new adventure as an assistant coach of Germany under-17s.
" Shkodra has accumulated enough experience to be part of the youth teams ", said Kai Kryger, head of the youth sector at the German Football Federation.
" I really want to work with young people because I want to pass on what I've learned on the field ," added the 32-year-old born in Bad Hersfeld.
During his career, Mustafi has played with teams such as Sampdoria, Valencia, Arsenal, Shalke 04 and Levante.
