The Albanian U-17 national team triumphed with a 2-1 reversal in the first friendly with Kosovo U-17, which was played at the "Kukës Arena" stadium. Matias Gici and Renato Halili scored for the Reds and Blacks.
Coach Ardi Behari started the match with this formation: Etem Xhemali, Davide Avdullari (C), Kris Gecaj, Fabjano Nuhaj, Renato Halili, Eraldo Karaj, Kleo Shpuza, Jurgen Peci, Mateo Dashi, Brayan Gjyla, Oresti Rifa.
The first half, for the team led by coach Behari, ended with a 0-1 disadvantage. Kosovo U-17 opened the match in the 25th minute with Fation Haxhiu. However, the second part was another symphony.
Coach Ardi Behari made several substitutions, activating players like Vogli, Sina and Gici. It was the latter who was decisive, equalizing the result 1 minute before the end of regular time, in the 89th minute, while the reversal came in the third extra minute with Halil.
Both teams will play another friendly match two days later, on October 16, at the "Kukës Arena" stadium, at 11:00.
These tests are important for Albania U-17, on the eve of the Euro 23/24 qualifiers for this age group. The Reds are part of Group 5 with Portugal, the Czech Republic and Montenegro. The matches will take place in the period 15-21 November 2023.
