Cocaine trafficking:

Promes, a winger owned by Spartak Moscow, also suspected of attempting to kill his cousin during a party in 2020, was charged with importing 1,361 kilograms of cocaine.

Promes is absent from the sessions

Promes was not present at the hearing. His lawyers, Robert Malevicz and Sofi Hof, took his place, reporting that the 32-year-old denies any involvement in drug trafficking.

Russian passport to avoid extradition

To avoid punishment, Promes is working to complete the process to obtain a Russian passport in the absence of an extradition order from Russia to the Netherlands. In this way, as long as he stays in Moscow, he cannot be prosecuted by the justice system of his country.
