The "Rubiales" case continues to remain in the center of attention in Spain, where investigations continue regarding the former president of the Spanish Football Federation. Everything has to do with the famous kiss he received from the footballer Xheni Hermoso during the World Cup trophy ceremony.
The Spanish TV show "Codico 10" had access to the minutes kept during the testimony given by the footballer herself to the prosecutor of the case. Here is what Hermoso said:
" During the ceremony, I greeted the queen, hugged the girl and went to Rubiales, who gave me the medal. I hugged him and then I said: What did we do like this! At that moment it dawned on me. The only thing I remember is that he told me: We won the World Cup thanks to you. Then he stretched out his hands towards me and kissed me on the lips."
The player then dwells on the consequences of that gesture psychologically and in her daily life. "It was a big shock, I didn't leave the house for days. I don't think I deserve this, I was not respected as a woman and as a football player. My image was defamed and no one defended me ," said Hermoso.
" Reacted after the kiss? How could I react, it was something unexpected. Because of the adrenalin I had in those moments, I hugged him and Rubiales for me was a reliable person. I had a formal but respectful relationship with him. No one expected what happened.
I didn't have time to react. The only thing that happened was that I told Alexia and Irena: You know that Rubiales just kissed me on the lips, the footballer confessed to the prosecutor's office. The truth is that I did not enjoy that world champion title at all. In the dressing room I tried to celebrate, but my mind was on what happened.
I had just accomplished something magical on the field, but I couldn't celebrate with my friends. It was something suffocating. When I saw the footage it was even more shocking to me. Then Rubiales entered the locker room to greet us ," said Hermoso.
Then the player added: " When we were on the plane to Spain, the president asked us to make a video where I would exonerate him, but I refused. They wanted to force me to make videos. The coach even talked to my brother to convince him. It was one thing I didn't want. I felt violated and abused. "
