Shkodra is in mourning today. Sabah Bizi has passed away, and this has saddened all of Albania, but especially the northern city.
The Shkodran football legend has closed his eyes once and for all today. The former footballer debuted at the age of 17 in the Albanian championship, leaving an immediate mark. He wore the jersey of Vllaznia and Partizan.
The Vllaznia club, through a message on social networks, expressed condolences to the family. The Shkodran team also mentioned the great contribution that Bizi made.

Farewell to the "Honor of the Nation" Sabah Bizi! This afternoon, the legend of Shkodran and Albanian football, Sabah Bizi, passed away.
"The Honor of the Nation" has closed his eyes, leaving behind a bright career in football. The 77-year-old, winner of championship titles and cups with the Vllaznia and Flamurtari shirts, debuted at the age of 17 in Albanian football. During his career, Sabah Bizi has been one of the main figures of the Albanian national team, as everyone remembers the 1967 match with Germany (0-0) and his duel with the great Beckenbauer, although he was only 19 years old.
In that match, Bizi, after being hospitalized for several days, was asked by coach Loro Boriçi to get out of bed to face Beckenbauer and eliminate Germany. After leaving football, Sabah Bizi continued to be close to this sport, initially managing the Veleçik i Kopliku team. He then briefly coached Vllaznia, where he later held the position of club secretary, while he worked for many years as a youth coach.

During his career, Bizi has been one of the main figures of the national team and has won many championship titles as well as the Albanian Cup. The 79-year-old is best remembered for that 1967 match with the great Franz Beckenbauer.
Sabah Bizi will be remembered as a personality of Shkodran and Albanian football. Sabahu also served as a coach after the end of his career, leading the red and blue team for a relatively short period.
