The legend of Shkodran and Albanian football, Sabah Bizi, has just passed away.
"The Honor of the Nation" closed his eyes a few minutes ago, leaving behind a bright career in football.
The 79-year-old, winner of championship titles and cups with Vllaznia and Flamurtari, made his debut in Albanian football at the age of 17.
During his career, Sabah Bizi has been one of the main figures of the Albanian national team, as everyone remembers the 1967 match with Germany (0-0) and his duel with the great Beckenbauer, even though he was only 19 years old.
In that match, Bizi, after being hospitalized for several days, was asked by coach Loro Boriçi to get out of bed to face Beckenbauer and eliminate Germany. After leaving football, Sabah Bizi continued to be close to this sport, initially managing the Veleçik i Kopliku team.
He then briefly coached Vllaznia, where he later held the position of club secretary, while working for many years as a youth coach.
