New details have emerged from the serious incident in Mat yesterday, where 23-year-old Renis Dobra was found dead near Lake Shkopet.
The Mati police have arrested 4 people as suspects in the murder of Renis Dobra. The suspects are people who had previously had conflicts with the victim.
They said that they had closed their problems with the 23-year-old and were unaware of the circumstances of the crime. After being questioned for several hours, they were released by the police, but despite this they will continue to be kept under the supervision of blue uniforms.
Preliminary examination has revealed that 23-year-old Dobra died from strangulation with a rope.
The investigations are focused on several leads, such as conflicts that the young man may have had, both inside and outside Albania.
According to sources, in Germany, from where he was deported a few months earlier, he was involved as a drug distributor. It is suspected that he was recently continuing this activity in his home city.
In our country, the 23-year-old does not have a significant criminal record, but is suspected and investigated for residential burglary.
We recall that the serious incident occurred on the evening of July 8, near Lake Shkopet. From the first observation of the body, it was noticed that the young man had bruises on his neck, thus initially raising suspicions that this was a criminal situation and not an accident. The police raised suspicions that Dobra drowned and that his car was thrown into the lake.
It was the young man's family who alerted the police about the young man's disappearance, only to find out later that the 23-year-old had been murdered. The investigations were also based on the suspicion that the victim may have had a conflict over a girl, but this has not been proven. The serious incident was reported yesterday morning on July 9, 2025.
