Former Vllaznia and Partizan footballer Sabah Bizi passed away today. Condolences have been pouring in for the football legend, including messages from politicians.
The President of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has posted on his social networks a condolence message for Bizi from Shkodër. Meta considers him "the Honor of the Nation", a unique talent in the history of our football.
The legend of Shkodra is a great name of the green field, whose dimensions extend beyond our country.
The 77-year-old, winner of championship titles and cups with the Vllaznia and Flamurtari shirts, made his debut in Albanian football at the age of 17.
During his career, Sabah Bizi has been one of the main figures of the Albanian national team, as everyone remembers the 1967 match with Germany (0-0) and his duel with the great Beckenbauer, even though he was only 19 years old.
In that match, Bizi, after being hospitalized for several days, was asked by coach Loro Boriçi to get out of bed to face Beckenbauer, eliminating Germany. After leaving football, Sabah Bizi continued to be close to this sport, initially managing the Veleçik i Koplik team.
He then briefly coached Vllaznia, where he later held the position of club secretary, while working for many years as a youth coach.
