The fires that have swept through our country in recent days have caused significant damage, burning homes, livestock, and vineyards from north to south.
Regarding these damages, the Ministry of Defense announced that there will be an assessment and subsequent compensation for the damages caused by the fires.
She also emphasized that this procedure for assessing damages will be carried out in each affected municipality and compensation will again be carried out by the Municipality, through the civil protection fund.
" The assessment and compensation of damages caused by the fires will be carried out in each affected municipality, according to a special procedure, which begins with their identification by the Assessment Group for the inventory of damages, established by order of the Mayor.
This group carries out an inventory of damages to housing, infrastructure, businesses, agricultural crops, mechanical equipment, social-cultural facilities and fills out forms with financial costs.
"Then, the municipalities prepare lists of damaged entities and relevant documentation, and after the financial assessment of each municipality, the cost of compensation is determined, which is carried out from the funds of the affected municipality, through the civil protection fund ," the Ministry of Defense announced.
