Democratic Party MP Arian Ndoja, invited to the "Oponencë" show on News24, has commented on the possibility that some of the senior officials arrested in Albania will cooperate with justice, becoming so-called "pentitos", a term used for people who agree to testify against others in exchange for legal relief.
Ndoja emphasized that the motives that lead a person to take this step are not necessarily related to fear or the inability to face prison, but to the desire for revenge.
" People don't become penitents out of fear, not because they can't stand prison, but out of revenge. Not because they can't stand prison, there's life there too, but they become penitents for revenge. They are driven by revenge ," said Ndoja.
The Democratic MP suggested that the phenomenon of "repentance" in the justice system should be viewed carefully, as often the background to the statements of collaborators is not related to a sense of guilt, but to personal motives.
