Prosecutor Arben Kraja has provided details of the anti-drug operation and the destruction of the Albanian criminal group with the help of Dutch authorities.
At the joint press conference regarding this group that was led from Albania in several countries, he said that the investigation began after information from Dutch authorities and lasted two years.
The prosecutor said that this investigation has identified several issues related to the spread and distribution of criminal activity by Albanians abroad.
"They had contacted Albanian citizens involved in criminal activity. In contact with the Finnish authorities, a joint investigative team was created. Two years in a row, joint work and we have come to today. From this investigation, we have extracted several problems, showing the extent and distribution of Albanian crime outside Albania. Involvement from Albania to Finland, from Spain to Finland. We have managed to succeed, with special investigation methods. The concrete issue, the trust of the Finnish authorities, shows that we are on the same step to fight organized crime", said Kraja.
